Discover the Hisui region, Jubilife Village, and the characters of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

The Natural Majesty of the Hisui Region

Your adventure is set in the expansive natural majesty of the Hisui region, in an age long ago when it was rare for people and Pokémon to live in close harmony. In time, this land of Hisui will come to be called Sinnoh—a region you may know well.

Mount Coronet rises from the center of the Hisui region, surrounded on all sides by areas with distinct environments. Each area is rich in its own natural features and plays host to different Pokémon ecosystems. One such area is the Obsidian Fieldlands, which is resplendent with gorgeous flowers and verdant vegetation—what’s more, it appears to teem with Pokémon that favor meadows and forests.

Your Base of Operations: Jubilife Village

The Hisui region is home to Jubilife Village, the center of operations for the Galaxy Expedition Team—or Galaxy Team for short—people who have come from various regions to study Hisui. The team includes various corps, such as the Medical Corps and the Security Corps, as well as the Survey Corps, which carries out research on how Pokémon live.

Jubilife Village will serve as the base for your surveying missions.

After receiving an assignment or a request and preparing for your next excursion, you’ll set out from the village to study one of the various areas of the Hisui region. After you finish your survey work, you’ll return once more to prepare for your next task.

Along with the headquarters of the Galaxy Team and your own lodgings, Jubilife Village boasts a range of useful institutions and services—such as the trading post, where you can trade Pokémon with other players.

A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to enjoy certain features.

Pokémon Blessed with a Mysterious Power

There are special Pokémon in the Hisui region that have received a mysterious blessing. Some of these Pokémon, known as nobles, are particularly powerful, while others are said to willingly assist the people of the region. Your encounters with these special Pokémon will be a key part of your story.

The Wardens Who Serve the Special Pokémon

The people of the Hisui region hold a great respect for these special Pokémon and task wardens to look after them. The wardens protect the special Pokémon by making sure their territories remain safe and by providing offerings of food and water.

Frenzied Noble Pokémon

A strange phenomenon is causing nobles to suddenly fly into a frenzy, making them incredibly difficult to rein in. As part of the Survey Corps, you will be called upon to quell the frenzies of the nobles.

How to Quell the Frenzied Pokémon

The bodies of frenzied Pokémon grow in size and shine brightly. Simply defeating these Pokémon in a Pokémon battle will not calm them. To quell them, you will have to hit them with balms made using these noble Pokémon’s favorite foods.

Dodge Attacks and Throw Balms

It won’t be easy to hit a rampaging noble with balms. They will relentlessly unleash powerful attacks at you. The moment you see an opportunity, hit them with as many balms as you can. Just like with throwing a Poké Ball, aim carefully.

Use Pokémon Battles to Your Advantage

While nobles are formidable opponents, defeating them in battle will cause them to be temporarily dazed, making it easier for you to hit them with more balms and gain the upper hand!

The Diamond Clan and the Pearl Clan

The Hisui region isn’t just home to the Galaxy Team, which you’ll join. Two other groups also live here: the Diamond Clan and the Pearl Clan.

Both clans don clothing designed to resemble certain Pokémon, and both pay respects to special Pokémon they call lords and ladies—or collectively, noble Pokémon.

And both the Diamond Clan and the Pearl Clan have wardens who serve these special Pokémon. For example, the warden Arezu—who serves a certain lady Pokémon—is a member of the Diamond Clan. But Warden Lian—the warden serving Kleavor, the lord presiding over the Obsidian Fieldlands—is a member of the Pearl Clan.

Arceus, the Alpha Pokémon, Is Said to Have Shaped All There Is in This World

During your adventure, you will explore and survey the Hisui region and become more involved with the leaders of the Diamond and Pearl Clans—eventually finding yourself drawn into the mysteries surrounding Arceus, whose secrets may be uncovered atop Mount Coronet.

The Space-Time Rift That Has Appeared in the Sky above Mount Coronet

Above Mount Coronet’s peak, cracks have appeared in the sky, staining it an unnatural and foreboding hue. The people of the Hisui region call this phenomenon a “space-time rift,” and they fear it, not knowing what it truly portends. Yet it seems that the root cause behind its appearance might have something to do with a certain Pokémon...

The Mysterious Temple That Stands atop the Mountain’s Peak

There is a magnificent temple atop Mount Coronet. Built in ancient times, it is filled with beautiful statues of Pokémon that have been blessed with special protection—including the noble Pokémon. Only those who can conquer the difficult path leading up the towering heights of the mountain may reach this temple. You’ll have to train and grow strong with your Pokémon if you hope to see it for yourself.

Ties to the World of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl

While Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set in a different age than the Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl games, it seems that there are some connections to be found between them.

Jubilife Village
and Jubilife City

Jubilife Village is the main base of your adventures in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. In Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, this village has grown to be Jubilife City, a bustling metropolis that you visit early in your adventure.

Commander Kamado and Professor Rowan

Commander Kamado, who appears in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, is an ancestor of Professor Rowan, who appears in Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl.

And it seems that there are other people in this game who might also be ancestors to familiar faces you may know.

Commander Kamado is the boss of the Galaxy Team.

Professor Rowan appears in Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. He researches Pokémon Evolution and is a distinguished professor who is well respected in the field.
